Post BotHunter 1.5.0 Updated
We've updated both the *nix and LiveCD distributions of BotHunter 1.5.0 to eliminate the (potentially indefinite) delay in sending snort alerts to the BotHunter correlator when the alert generation rate is low. (Note that the Windows implementation does not have this problem and does not need to be updated.)

Post Re: BotHunter 1.5.0 Updated
I just discovered that the "new" release didn't actually contain the buffer flush fix. :( Nevertheless, I've just replaced it on the web site and the MD5 signature is 4197643c5daaa97bfdb465671272e7a0.

Post Re: BotHunter 1.5.0 Updated
A user recently discovered that on a (pristine) Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) machine BotHunter 1.5.0 failed to fetch and install pcre, the Perl-compatible regular expression library, which resulted in a failure to build snort. This was caused by the deletion of the pcre version BotHunter had requested (-- the distribution was obsoleted). (N.b.: this problem is specific to new Mac OS X installations that require a (pre-)installation of pcre.) Consequently, I've updated BotHunter to fetch the pcre distribution from an SRI-web cache (see http://www.bothunter.net/download.html; MD5: b6a62d340ae0a0cffc54b7d70bf7e0c7).
